Toddler Sleep Issues Cont....

A Post for Dads

Help! My toddler won't sleep in his own bed.

Help! Does my child need therapy?

Welcome

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I recognize the central importance of relationships in the well-being of individuals, couples, families, and communities. I focus on people's strengths and possibilities while addressing their real life problems.  I want to help you resolve issues from your past that may be holding you back from the future you seek. I believe each individuals therapy process will look different.

I operate as a therapist with a focus on Existential psychotherapy. It is a philosophical method of therapy that operates on the belief that inner conflict within a person is due to that individual's confrontation with the givens of existence such as the the inevitability of death, freedom, isolation, and finally meaninglessness.

In my therapy, I provide a very optimistic viewpoint focusing on the potential for good and growth that is inherent in the human condition. I believe each client has the power to change. We work together side by side to help heal and move toward the life of fulfillment and happiness that you seek.

Clients tell me they value my openness, willingness to give feedback, ability to provide structure in sessions as needed, and ability to be genuine and present in each sessions fosters a safe space to do the work that is needed once trust is established.

Common Questions People Face When Distressed:

  • Is there any way to feel more happy and satisfied with this life?

  • How can I stop these negative thoughts that keep repeating inside my head?

  • Am I crazy? Am I too messed up? Am I hopeless?

  • Am I the only one who is this unhappy?

  • I feel so stuck. Is there any hope for a different life?

  • This unhappiness is exhausting. Can I ever feel free or at peace?

Each client is unique.  Some people need to go deeply in to past hurts while others want to deal with more immediate problems.   We will discover together the best approach to improving your relationships and life.  I build on Irvin Yalom's research, and his work on existential therapy and group therapy methods. I combine this with my own insights as we work together collaboratively based on your goals and situation.

Common Benefits of Couples Counseling:

  • A stronger ability to take a hold of your life and go for your dreams.

  • More understanding and compassion for yourself as a person.

  • More insight into how you are in relationships and what you need in your relationships.

  • A sense of healing from past issues.

  • A release of built up emotions and a new clarity on moving forward.

"…the purpose of psychotherapy is to set people free."
